This talk maps four levels of human–AI collaboration and argues the main barrier is our orientation to tasks, not AI intelligence.
– Level 1: single-loop interactions (tab completion, chat) — useful but unscalable.
– Level 2: orchestrated feature/task runs (multiple AI shapes) — common today but humans become the bottleneck.
– Level 3: objective-driven systems and multi-agent teams (goals, self-organizing agents) — emerging; needs visibility and cross-session tooling.
– Level 4: systems define objectives from outcomes — speculative; requires interpretability, traceability and decision environments.
Quotes:
There’s a wall between what we’re currently doing and what AI can actually do for us.
If everything looks like a nail, we’re going to hammer it.
Go make me a company that makes a million dollars. I don’t care what you do.
